Hey
Take a look at this one. This Mazda was hit by a motorcycle
that was traveling approx. 50 mph.
Take a close look at the floor where it was sectioned. Both
rockers and the floor separated on impact. Improper welding,
no corrosion protection etc. The biggest problem here is that
shop felt that they did nothing wrong here.

This accident happened in my home town & I know the owner & repair shop. They bought this vehicle knowing it was a repaired?? salvage vehicle. The owners husband was a bonded auto dealer in nh & hired out his work to local shops. So this was not an Insurance job gone bad. The owner knew about the repairs, the problem might start if the repairs were not disclosed to next owner. Also from what I heard from the newpapers & police & the company the insurance co hired to reconstruct the scene the motorcycle was going well over 50 mph, closer to 90 mph, in a 35 mph zone. Also the local rescue/fire dept used the jaws on this mazda. Has anyone talked to the shop that did the repairs?? Just wondering how we know the shop "feels they did nothing wrong".

Steve
There is still somewhat of an investigation still going on.
The issue is not how fast the cycle was traveling,it is the
fact that this vehicle was clipped improperly and was a disaster
waiting to happen. Even though the owner knew the vehicle was
clipped that is no excuse to put that vehicle on the road. Had anyone
been in the rear seat at the time there probably woul have been serious
injury or death involved.
The jaws of life were used to remove the "B" pillar and rear door.
The floor and rockers appear to have separated on impact. Look at the
opposite side of the vehicle and you can see that the car just tore
apart. This would not have happened if the car was not clipped.
